In December 2009, the group had 8,703kilometres of distribution network in the following autonomous communities: the Basque Country, Asturias, Catalonia, Castile and Leon, Extremadura, Madrid and Murcia with 963.837 service points. Moreover, it had previous administrative authorizations in the Balearic Islands (Minorca) and the Valencian Community- Pilar de la Horadada, Alicante.

Functions:

• Managing assets of distribution, including the promotion of new distribution infrastructures, their development, maintaining and optimization.
• Supplying gas to customers in the regulated market.

LNG (Liquefied natural gas)

NATURGAS ENERGÍA supplies liquefied natural gas to some municipalities in Asturias and to Figueres city (province of Girona) through satellite plants located in these towns.

Nowadays, the group has five facilities with the following storing capacity:

The natural gas is transported in tank trucks in liquid state, at -160 ºC, from regasification plants to satellite plants, where it is stored in cryogenic tanks. Liquefied gas is extracted as it is required for consumption, turned into gas with vaporizers. Next, it circulates through the Regulation and Measure Station and is sent to the distribution network, in order to be supplied to final customers.
